Wipro has identified suitable recycling mechanisms; created service points across the country, identified technically competent recycling agencies and has set up a complete process for recycling of e-waste.
- By the nature of the industry and the low usage of heavy engineering or equipment, the Noise levels have been controlled or avoided completely within the premises.
- Noise levels are measured on a quarterly basis in daytime and night time, through NABL approved external agencies.
- Noise made by the Generator Set (Captive Power supply) is controlled and adequate shields have been installed.
- The data is periodically mapped with Pollution Control Board norms and has been found to fit within permissible levels.
- Although no major Health Related Risks are envisaged in the factory premises, by the usage, implementation and deployment of components, tools etc for the manufacture and service of computers and systems, adequate precaution is taken to ensure that nothing untoward happens, by the following extensive actions.
- Emergency preparedness process and extensive training on handling emergencies.
- Frequent mock drills conducted for emergencies related to fire and accidents.
- First aid & safety training for all employees, including contract and temporary hands.
- First aid boxes are provided at all the locations (with security personnel available 24 hrs for service).
- Periodic Work Environment audits (which cover aspects of SAFETY, HEALTH & HYGIENE).

Water Pollutants & Control Plans:
There are no Water Pollutants in our overall process. We are consuming water only for Domestic and gardening purpose. The domestic waste water is treated through Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) and the treated water is used for gardening purpose. There is no effluent process involved. The STP inlet and outlet samples are tested yearly once through NABL approved external agencies.
Sewage treatment plant (STP)
Sewage treatment plant is designed to treat domestic effluent consisting of outflow from water closets, wash basins and urinals. The system consists of the following components:
- Gully traps, collection manholes, sewage pipelines
- Equalization tank
- Aeration tank
- Settling tank
- Sludge dying bed
- Treated effluent sump
- Sand filter
- Chlorinator
The key characteristics of domestic effluent after treatment are controlled as per below limits
- TSS (Total Suspended Solids): 100 mg/ltr max or as measured against the marking in the measurement jar
- pH: 6 to 8.5

Recycling of E-Waste
- Recycling of E-Waste – Currently we have the authorization from PPCC for collection and storage of E-Waste. We have tied-up with vendor for disposal who are approved by the Pollution Control Board (PCB).
- Recycling of Spent Oil – Waste oil is disposed to the disposal agency that is approved by the Pollution Control Board (PCB). Accumulated waste oil will be periodically disposed as per the disposal process mentioned below.
- The following points are checked and ensured for the disposal agency.
- Registration certificate by the PCB for recycling /reprocessing of the oil waste.
- Validity period and check whether the approval is valid during the time of the disposal.
- The quantity of the waste should not exceed prescribed limits as mentioned in the license copy.
- Following are the various statutory forms which will be used during the disposal.
- Form 13 during the disposal which contain the information about the hazardous waste.
- Form 12 which has the details of the type of hazardous wastes shall mark on the containers.
- Form 11 which is transport emergency card which has the details of the type of hazardous waste and contact details in case of any emergencies.
- Disposal agency will be responsible for recycling with all the environmental precautions as per the pollution control board guidelines.
- While transportation it has to be ensured that the barrel is tied with belt as a measure to prevent the barrel falling over and breaking in case of any accidents that might happen.
- Monitoring Requirements and Records:
- The current accumulation of Hazardous wastes is displayed in the Main entrance for society reference.
- Date, quantity and agency name will be recorded for every disposal.
- Approval letter by Pollution Control Board (PCB) to the disposal agency.
Maintain the record of hazardous waste details in Form 3 & Submission of Form 4 every year & Form 8 every half yearly once to PPCC.
- Display of Hazardous Waste Accumulated MTD & YTD (For Society Ref).

- Organic Composting Techniques (biodegradable wastes)
- A separate landfill site within the premises is identified for disposal of Natural Food Waste
- The natural food waste is collected in separate bin at the canteen facility
- The natural food waste is then dumped in 5 Feet pit in the identified place
- The pit is closed weekly once and new pit identified in the adjacent locations
- Average of 3 Kg Natural Food Waste is filled in the pit every day
- This will be used as natural fertilizer after 6 months
